Maritime emissions control

What is MARPOL Regulations ?

MARPOL, or The International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, is a comprehensive international framework established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to minimize pollution from vessels. Adopted in 1973 and modified by protocols in 1978, MARPOL has become the cornerstone of global maritime environmental regulation, governing pollution across various mediums such as air, water, and waste.

The convention is divided into six annexes, each targeting specific types of pollution to ensure safer, cleaner oceans.

MARPOL’s far-reaching impact underscores the growing need for advanced solutions like AUS 40. The combination of regulatory compliance, environmental responsibility, and operational efficiency forms the foundation of sustainable maritime operations today.

To comply with these regulations, vessels operating in Emission Control Areas (ECA) must use products like AUS 40 to meet IMO Tier III NOx standards, ensuring cleaner exhaust emissions.

What is AUS 40?

AUS 40 is a 40% urea solution specifically formulated for marine applications, aimed at reducing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions through Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology. This product plays a key role in meeting the stringent environmental requirements set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), contributing to sustainable maritime operations.

Why is AUS 40 Important?

  • Environmental Compliance: Aligns with IMO regulations for reducing NOx emissions.

  • Optimized Performance: Enhances the efficiency of SCR systems by providing the correct concentration of urea.

  • Versatile Logistics: Available in bulk and sealed packages, facilitating operations in diverse port environments.

How is AUS 40 Supplied?

  • Bulk Delivery: Via tank trucks adapted to pump the product directly into vessel storage tanks, ensuring a fast and seamless transfer.

  • Packaged Options: Delivered in sealed IBCs and drums for easy handling and storage.

  • Flexible Delivery: Customized to match the infrastructure of each port, vessel, and operation, minimizing downtime.
