The IMO Maritime Safety Committee has officially opened its sessions today, setting a strong agenda around the energy transition in maritime transport.

Brazil is fully engaged, with the Navy coordinating a national delegation including:

  • Ministry of Transport

  • Ministry of Mines and Energy

  • Ministry of Environment and Climate Change

  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs

  • ANTAQ

  • IBAMA

  • Petrobras

This cross-sector approach marks an important step for Brazil, aligning national strategy with global efforts to enhance maritime safety and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
