The Brazilian Ministry of Ports and Airports has introduced its inaugural Sustainability Policy, managed by the DSust Directorate, to embed environmental stewardship, climate resilience, and social inclusion into port, airport, and waterway infrastructure .

Key features include:
Annual Action Plans with clear sustainability targets
Oversight by the COSUST Committee ensuring accountability
A voluntary Sustainability Pact, more than 50 infrastructure companies already signed up, committing to ESG metrics and recognition seals
This policy signals a major shift: Brazil is moving from infrastructure expansion to environmentally responsible modernization, aligning with global goals and fostering greener logistics across its vast coastline.
